New imprint Moth to publish Northern crime

A new crime fiction imprint based in the north of England has been launched to publish the winners of the inaugural Northern Crime Competition, which ran in 2012.

The imprint, Moth Publishing, is backed by New Writing North and Business Educational Publishers Limited (BEPL). Moth will publish the winning novels—by Helen Cadbury, Alfie Crow, Michael Donovan and Rebecca Muddiman—on 30th May as paperbacks and e-books. It will be staffed by two members of staff from New Writing North and two from BEPL, all of whom will continue to work on other projects. A spokesperson said there were plans to publish further batches of books in future, with the possibility of accepting other submissions if the opening launch proves successful.
